Ilana Diamant is a writer, researcher, director, and producer based in Berlin, Germany.

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she had been a lover of theater and performing arts before unfortunately not finding any acting or musical talents. She combined her interest in writing with her high school TV addiction and set out to be a screenwriter and filmmaker. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Television-Radio from the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in 2017, and jumped headfirst into the film industry from there.

Ilana has recently produced projects with the USC Shoah Foundation, creating short documentaries for younger audiences about topics relating to the Holocaust, prejudice, and genocide. She also wrote the animated short Music Dreams, an adaptation of Mona Golabek’s book Hold on to Your Music, the story of her pianist mother during World War II. Previously, she worked as a Researcher and Production Associate for documentaries from WQED Pittsburgh, including the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award-winning An Unlikely Refuge: Surviving the Holocaust in Shanghai. While working on long-term projects, she also freelanced as a Production Assistant for both narrative and commercial works, as well as teaching screenwriting and production basics to high schoolers in the Western Pennsylvania region through the WQED Film Academy.

Ilana is currently based in Berlin, Germany, where she received her Master’s degree in Directing. She has been producing short films since 2022, and has continued to work as an Archival Researcher and Producer for independent documentaries. She never stopped screenwriting, and has a pilot and a feature in development. When she is not focused on her film projects, she can usually be found vintage shopping, attempting to bake a decent gluten-free chocolate cake, and traveling.
